We do not run a busy events calendar — we are a small trust with no staff. What we do has the rhythm of the year: the civic Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph, two trustees’ open afternoons in spring and autumn, a name-reading morning each April, and two conservation Saturdays at the Memorial.
An informal conversation about our grant-making and the year ahead. Tea, biscuits, and a chance to meet four of the trustees. Open to anyone interested in the work of the trust. No need to book — but a brief note will help us judge the tea.
We need three hours and twenty volunteers to read every name aloud and check our register. Bring a flask and a folding chair. Pairings will be made on the morning. Tea and tray-bake at Greenhead Park bandstand afterwards.
A morning with the conservator at the Cenotaph: brushing lichen, recording weathered names, and helping with the practicalities of equipment and refreshment. No experience needed. Bring sturdy footwear and gardening gloves.
The second of our two annual open afternoons. We will review the year so far, share early findings from the 2026 Conservation Appeal, and answer questions on grant-making policy.
